Wilma M. Scroggins Campbell CHARLESTON - Wilma M. Scroggins Campbell, 88, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Arthur G. Campbell, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 26, 2014. She was born in Little Crab, TN on November 2, 1925 and was the daughter of the late Balaam F. Scroggins and the late Carrie Woodson Scroggins. She was married for 60 years to the late Arthur G. Campbell. Wilma graduated high school in 1944 as the Valedictorian of her class at Alvin C. York High School in Jamestown, Tennessee. Because of her academic achievements in high school, she was recruited to work at the Oak Ridge Center of the Manhattan Project. After her children were grown, she worked as an administrator at several Federal facilities in Charleston. She will be best remembered as a gentle, kind, and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She is survived by her sons, Philip A. Campbell (Tara) and Paul S. Campbell of Charleston; six grandchildren, Christy C. Boyd, Carrie G. Kelly, Jason A. Campbell, David Gilbert, Alexander B. Campbell and Philip A. Campbell; as well as twelve great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters that she loved dearly, Barbara Jones and Dorothy Brown. Mrs. Campbell was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathryn C. Gilbert, her son, Steven D.
