Barbara Gayle Darnell, 76, passed away Friday, May 9, 2014 at her home in Altus. Graveside services are scheduled for 3 p.m., Monday at the Victory Cemetery with Darrel Coffman officiating. Services have been entrusted to Kincannon Funeral Home.
Barbara Gayle Warren was born June 18, 1937 to Roy [53202] and Sarah (Scroggins) [53201] Warren in Olustee. She graduated from Altus High School with the class of 1956. Barbara and Lou Darnell were united in marriage on Jan. 18, 1969. Barbara was a member of the Southside Baptist Church. She loved taking care of her home; cooking; and most of all spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one son, Jon Scott Darnell [53200].
She is survived by her husband Lou of the home; one son, Gary Bannister [53199] and wife Kim [] of Flower Mound, Texas; and three grandchildren, Landon Bannister and his wife Amanda of Dallas, Marcy Bannister of Flower Mound, and Amber Darnell of Olustee; two brothers, Dwayne Warren [53203] and wife Marlene [53204] of California, and Steve Warren [53205] of Mangum; and one sister, Glenda Warren [53206] of Altus.
The family will greet friends from 3 to 5 p.m., Sunday, May 11, 2014 at the Kincannon Gathering Room.
Memorials may be made in honor of Barbara Darnell to the Victory Cemetery Association in care of Kincannon Funeral Home.
