Nell Jean George LUBBOCK-Nell Jean George went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016. Nell was born in Cleveland, AR, on July 29, 1929, the fourth child of Orville and Dessie Scroggins. After graduating from Morrilton High School, Nell attended Abilene Christian College, where she met the love of her life, Morris George [34454:N]. They were married on Sept. 1, 1949. The couple lived in various communities in Texas, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona. They retired to Lubbock 1989. Nell was a faithful member of the Church of Christ throughout her life and worshipped with the Monterey Church of Christ in Lubbock. Nell is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Lloyd [34449:N] and Joe [34452:N] Scroggins; one sister, Syble Dicus [34450:N]; and her beloved husband, Morris [34454:N]. She is survived by two sisters, Joyce Trimmer [34455:N] and Jan Tate [34457:N]. She leaves one daughter, Debra Rogers and husband, Rodney of Lubbock, and a son, David George of Dunedin, FL. She also leaves four grandchildren: Jason Rogers and wife, Lauren, Lindsey Rogers Harlan and husband, John, Dustin George and wife, Ashley, and Tory George; along with six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held to honor Nell's life on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Monterey Church of Christ in Lubbock.
