She was preceded in death by her parents and her late husbands, Joe N. Scroggins and L.C. Jones; brothers, Emmit and Glenn Heath; and sisters, Lucille Smith, Eleanor Sides, Kate Hudson and Audrey Gordon. Survivors include her daughter, Mary Jo Day and husband Gerald of Allons, Tenn.; a brother, James Heath of Opp, Ala.; grandchildren, Sherry Kirby, Dherry Day and Patricia Webb; three great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, with funeral services officiated by Rev. Ron Williamson at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Crestview Memorial Funeral Home at 492 E. Message: Martin "Keith" Senior Obituary Martin "Keith" Senior age 75 of Wilmington and formerly Fort Myers, FL, passed away Thursday November 22, 2007 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home in Joliet, IL surrounded by his family. Born March 3, 1932 in Mason, IL, Keith was a son of the late Martin and Lula M. Logan Senior. He was employed by UniRoyal Corp., Amoco and Durkee Foods, and retired after 20 years with A.K.Z.O. Chemical Corp., where he was a Production Manager. Keith moved to Fort Myers in 1997, where he was a member of the Gulf Lions Club and volunteered for Hospice and Homeless Shelters. He was a marathon runner, having run in the Chicago Marathon and numerous other Florida runs and coached Little League Baseball in Wilmington, IL. Keith loved the art of conversation. Survivors include three sons: Steve (Brenda) Senior of Michigan, Kevin (Lori) Senior of Wilmington, IL and Martin Curtis (Carolyn) Senior of Channahon, IL. Two daughters: Denise (Glenn) Farmer of Wilmington, IL and Melanie Touvell of Braidwood, IL. Eleven grandchildren: Brandon, Jennifer, David, Mathew, Nichole, Jake, Brett, Christina, Caitlin, Tyler, Jennifer and Ashley. One great granddaughter Grace Mae; four sisters: Patty (Lee) Prather and Carole (Bob) Scroggins, both of Effingham, IL, Kathleen Albert of Wisconsin and Jeanne (John) Garrod of Florida and a dear friend Shirley Van Ackeren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Keith was preceded in death by his parents and his former wife and the mother of his children: Ethel Marie Brockett Senior. Frank was an accomplished Jazz Musician and was a member of the 4 Gents Band. He traveled throughout the country and played locally. He enjoyed being with his family and friends. She was born in Groton on Sept. 26, 1963, and was the daughter of the late James and Geraldine (O'Brien) Scroggins. Annie was a native Noanker who enjoyed an idyllic childhood clamming at the Noank Shipyard with her dad and grandfather Scroggins, swimming at the Town Dock, playing at the park, and entertaining her friends in the "Noank Sunshine Club" which was a shed in her backyard. Her love of gardening was evident in the spectacular array of flowers at her home. Annie had a very special place in her heart for her beloved Pug, Molly O'Brien, her devoted companion of 17 years who predeceased her in February 2007. The courage, strength, and perseverance that Annie showed throughout her illness will be a testament to her determination to fight to continue being a mother to her young children and a wife to her husband. Ann was a communicant of the St. Mary Mother of the Redeemer Church, Groton. Besides her husband, she leaves her two children, Andrew and Heather Haddon of Groton; her husband's children, Jonathan Haddon of New London and David Haddon of Mystic; two brothers, Michael Scroggins and his wife, Rei-Anne, of Palm Coast, Fla., and James Scroggins and his wife, Brenda, of Mystic; three sisters, Lindsay Ashton and her husband, Jay, of Noank, Patricia Stenz and Elizabeth Rowley, both of Groton; her goddaughter, Kelani Scroggins of Palm Coast, Fla.; and her aunts, Leola O'Brien of Old Mystic and Virginia O. Besides her husband, she leaves her two children, Andrew and Heather Haddon of Groton; her husband's children, Jonathan Haddon of New London and David Haddon of Mystic; two brothers, Michael Scroggins and his wife, Rei-Anne, of Palm Coast, Fla. and James Scroggins and his wife, Brenda, of Mystic; three sisters, Lindsay Ashton and her husband, Jay, of Noank, Patricia Stenz and Elizabeth Rowley, both of Groton; her goddaughter, Kelani Scroggins of Palm Coast, Fla.; and her aunts, Leola O'Brien of Old Mystic and Virginia O. Brown of Jacksonville, Fla. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Mystic Funeral Home, Route 1, Mystic. Message: James A. Scroggins Mr. James A. Scroggins was born March 21, 1937, in Hill City Kan., to Lyonal A. and Helen M. Scroggins, who preceded him in death. He attended public schools in Kansas City, Kan. Mr. Scroggins moved to California in 1966 where he was employed in various occupations in the Sacramento area. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior at a young age and reconfirmed this belief shortly before his death. He will be remembered as a fun loving and caring man with a compassionate understanding for the disadvantaged in our society. James spent his final months hanging out with his oldest grandson, who as he said, "He's always here." He also enjoyed spending time with his great-granddaughter, Jordan. In 1955, he married Betty Jones and to this union five children were born, Renita L. Scroggins, James R. Scroggins, RosAnne D. Scroggins, Annette R. Scroggins, and Anthony R. Scroggins. Mr. Scroggins was preceded in death by his parents Lyonal and Helen Scroggins; two children, Renita and Anthony; two brothers, William and Donald; two sisters, Phyllis and Patricia. He is survived by two daughters, RosAnne and Annette; one son, James; two grandsons, Brian and Andre; one great- granddaughter, Jordan; one brother, Robert C. Scroggins; as well as a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends who loved him. Charles A. Scroggins was born Jan. 2, 1929, in Phelps, Mo.


Our Dad was held in high regard by all. He was always a kind, generous, unselfish and hard-working person. Our Dad had been so faithful to his family and friends through these years. He remained a devoted husband and caring father. Dad truly had the heart of a servant.


He was preceded in death by his sisters, Marie Claybough and Fern Bebout; and his brother, Sonny Marion Scroggins.


Survivors: Wife of 57 years, Jimmie Scroggins; sons, Dennis Scroggins and wife, Glenda, Kent Scroggins and wife, Darla and Don Scroggins; daughter, Gail Rutledge; grandchildren, Joshua, Luke, Sandy, Aaron, Caleb, Nathan, Kimberly, Quinton, Jennifer and Thaddaeus; seven great-grandchildren; and sisters, Virgie Lela Lewis and Georgia F. Pendleton.

Message: Annie Bell Callis HAMPTON - Annie Bell Callis, affectionately known as 'Mickey,' entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007, in her home with her daughters and granddaughter Tomeka by her side. She was born on Nov. 10, 1939, in Hertford County, N.C. She was educated in the North Carolina School System. She was employed for over 20 years with Peninsula Hospital Services until her retirement in August 2005 due to illness. She was a devoted mother and loved her family. She was always there to give a helping hand when needed. She believed in telling it like it was and she had a feisty spirit. She was preceded in death by her parents, the late Thomas and Sadie Dunn; a daughter, Brenda Denise Callis; and an infant son, Michael Callis. She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Barbara Dunn and Cynthia Callis; a son, Leon Callis Jr., all of Hampton; her former husband, Leon Callis Sr. of Newport News; five grandchildren, Tomeka Callis, Tracy Simpson, Lakia Dunn and Leon Vinston, all of Hampton, and Ebony Morse (JD) of Hinesville, Ga.; four great-grandchildren, Dyazia Hobley, Jaylen and Aniyah Simpson, all of Hampton, and Valdez Callis of Hinesville, Ga.; two sisters, Madie Bush of Newport News and Lillian Brown of Westland, Mich.; two brothers, Thomas Dunn (Thelma) of Hampton and Lafayette Dunn of the United Arab Emirates; a special adopted grandson, Michael Scroggins; aunt, Eva Williams; and a host of cousins and other relatives and friends. Burneda Frances (Scroggins) Gallion, 69, went home to be with the Lord at her home surrounded by family and friends on Saturday, November 10, 2007. A native of Evansville, she also lived in Wadesville and Crossville for many years before returning to Evansville in 2003, a year after her husband, "Delmo," went home to be with the Lord.

Burneda worked many years at Kent Plastics, which later became Ball Plastics and Whirlpool of Evansville. In later years became a homemaker. She loved her children and grandchildren. In her early years she enjoyed horseback riding and sunbathing, and in later years enjoyed singing karaoke and sunbathing. All who met her were touched by her beautiful smile and sweet disposition.

Preceding her in death is her husband of 45 years, Walter "Delmo" Gallion. Succeeding her in death are her children, James Gallion of Evansville, Steven Gallion and wife, Letty, and grandchildren, Cody and Bianca of San Antonio, Texas, and Nikki (US Navy) of Pensacola, Fla.; Richard Gallion and wife, Erica, and grandchildren, Harley and Harrison of Evansville; Kenneth Gallion and wife, Sharon, and grandchildren, Kendall Honeycutt and husband, Brad, of Clayton, N.C., Aaron, Emilee and Abigail of Fayetteville, N.C.; Melinda Bidabe and husband, Steve, of Chandler, Ind., and grandchildren, Krystal of Norris City, Ill., Ashley of Chandler, Ind., and Steve Jr., (US Navy) of San Diego, Calif.; and great-grandchildren, Preston and Dylan. Also, brothers, James Scroggins [9281] of Kissimmee, Fla., Charles Orange [45931] and Paul Scroggins [45932] of Evansville; and sister, Violet Sweeney [45933] of Las Vegas, Nev.
